§ 30.21 USER FEES FOR COUNTY JAIL DETAINEES.
   (A)   A $25 fee shall be assessed any person being booked into the population of the Newberry County Jail for any violation of state or local statutes, codes, or ordinances.
   (B)   The $25 fee will also be assessed to any individual being housed in the Newberry County Jail for violation of family court orders.
   (C)   It is the responsibility of the local judicial officer to collect the booking fees in addition to any bonds prior to the release of the accused, and it is the responsibility of the local government to remit these fees to the office of the Sheriff for accountability prior to deposit with the Treasurer of Newberry County.
   (D)   This booking fee will be collected through the Inmate Commissary/Trust for those persons being detained as a result of a judicial order that did not require an initial booking or bond hearing.
   (E)   If a person does not make bond and is sentenced to the local correctional facility, then any fees may be collected from the Inmate Commissary/Trust Fund of that inmate presently incarcerated or incarcerated at a later date.
   (F)   Commissions and fees collected from the Inmate Telephone System shall be held by the Newberry County Treasurer in a separate account to be disbursed in accordance with the provisions of S.C. Code § 6-1-330(B).
   (G)   Commissions and fees collected from the Inmate Commissary System shall be disbursed directly from the Inmate Trust Fund in accordance with provisions of S.C.§ 6-1-330(B).
   (H)   Commissions and fees collected as co-pays for medical/pharmaceutical care will be collected and disbursed through the Inmate Trust Fund. In the event an inmate does not have funds in their Inmate Trust Account, services will be rendered in accordance with existing state laws and local policies.
