§ 76.02 VEHICLES LEFT UNATTENDED; BRAKES TO BE SET, ENGINE STOPPED, IGNITION LOCKED AND KEYS REMOVED.
   (A)   No person having control or charge of a motor vehicle shall allow such vehicle to stand on any street unattended without first setting the brakes thereon, stopping the motor of such vehicle, locking the ignition and, when standing upon a perceptible grade, without turning the wheels of such vehicle to the curb or the side of the street or highway.
   (B)   The requirements of this section relating to the stopping of the engine, locking of the ignition and removing the key from the ignition of a motor vehicle shall not apply to an emergency vehicle or public safety vehicle.
