§ 74.042 MOVING BUILDINGS.
   The City Manager may, upon application, issue a permit to move a building over any street, highway or alley within the municipality. The permit shall be in writing and the City Manager may grant the same, subject to such conditions and restrictions, as in his or her judgment, are necessary for the preservation and protection of public or private property. The City Manager may require the applicant to provide a bond or cash deposit in such an amount, not to exceed $5,000, as may be necessary to save the municipality harmless from any and all liability or property damage as a result of the issuance of such a permit. Upon completion of the movement and inspection of the route traversed, if no claims are filed for recovery of damage to any person or property, the bond may be canceled or the deposit refunded.
