(A) No minor shall be upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment, or vacant lots between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. on weekdays and between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on weekends. Any child or children found in violation of the provisions of this section shall be first taken to the Sheriff's Office, and the parents, guardians or other adult persons having the care and custody of such minor shall be notified to report to the Sheriff's Office and take personal charge of such child or children. Such child or children shall only be released to the parents, guardians or adult persons having the care and custody of such minor, or to other appropriate law enforcement or court authorities.
(B) No parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of a minor shall knowingly permit such minor to be upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment, or vacant lots between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. on weekdays and between the hours of 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on weekends.
(C) The provisions of divisions (A) and (B) above shall not apply under the following circumstances:
(1) When a minor is accompanied by his or her parent, guardian, or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor;
(2) When the minor is upon an emergency errand or legitimate business directed by his or her parent, guardian, or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor; or
(3) When a minor is engaged in an officially scheduled school, church, or youth organization function or activity supervised by adults. A minor will have 30 minutes for returning to his or her home from such supervised school, church, or youth activity or function.
(D) Whoever violates any of the provisions of division (B) is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
