195.13  RULE 13 REDUCTIONS, SUSPENSIONS AND DISMISSAL.
Rule 13.1   General Procedure
The dismissal, demotions, reductions or suspension of an employee shall be governed by the city's personnel code (administrative code) as amended from time to time.
Rule 13.2   Demotions, Reductions And Layoffs - Non Disciplinary
Demotions, reductions and layoffs as a result of reasons other than disciplinary reasons are not appealable to the commission.
Rule 13.3   Probationary Removals And Reductions
The commission has no jurisdiction over suspensions, demotions, reductions or dismissals during a probationary period, except for appeals from the police chief and fire chief.
Rule 13.4   Order To Be Filed
In the case of a disciplinary suspension, demotion, reduction or dismissal of a classified employee for which an appeal may be taken to the Civil Service Commission, the appointing authority shall furnish the Commission with a copy of the order of suspension, demotion, reduction, or dismissal, which order shall state the reasons therefor.
