The following types of signs so long as there is compliance with the “in total sign area” for the given zone classification, are exempted from permit requirements but must be in conformance with all other requirements of this Code:
(a) One attached building nameplate per occupancy, not to exceed two square feet of sign area;
(b) Temporary and easily removable signs 1st Amendment signs;
(c) Public signs or notices, or any sign relating to an emergency;
(d) Nonilluminated window signs;
(e) Nonilluminated yard signs; and
(f) Illuminated signs in other than residential zones.
