As used in this chapter certain terms are defined as follows:
(a) "Soliciting", "canvassing", or "peddling", unless expressly provided for otherwise, means traveling from residence to residence within the City, without having first an appointment to visit the residence or residences visited for the purpose of taking or attempting to take orders for the sale of goods, wares, merchandise, services, or personal property of any nature whatsoever, for immediate or future delivery. Also, these terms mean occupying a public place, within the City, for the purpose of taking or attempting to take orders for the sale of goods, wares, merchandise, services, or personal property of any nature whatsoever, for immediate or future delivery.
(b) “Public place” means a right-of-way, street, alley, park, or parking lot within the City that is owned or controlled by the City, county or state government.
(c) “Solicitor”, “canvasser” or “peddler” means any person, firm, corporation or association who engages in soliciting, canvassing or peddling.
