(A) The organization shall consist of the following:
(1) An agency of civil preparedness within the executive branch of the towns’ governments and the Cherokee County government under the direction of the town boards and the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners. The head of this agency shall be the Coordinator, and any assistants and other employees as are deemed necessary for proper agency function will be appointed;
(2) The employees and resources of both towns’ and county departments, boards, institutions and councils will participate in the CP activity. Duties assigned to town or county departments will be similar to the normal respective duties, where possible; and
(3) Volunteer personnel and agencies offering service to, and accepted by the towns and county will participate in CP activity.
(B) The town boards and Board of County Commissioners shall appoint a Coordinator of the Cherokee County CP Agency who shall be a person well versed and trained in planning operations involving the activities of many different agencies which will operate to protect the public health, safety, and welfare in the event of danger from enemy action as defined in this subchapter.
(C) The Coordinator shall designate and appoint Deputy Coordinators to assume the emergency duties of the Coordinator in the event of his or her absence or inability to act.
