§ 34.32 INTENT AND PURPOSE.
   (A)   It is the intent and purpose of this subchapter to establish an office to ensure the complete and efficient use of all resources of the Towns of Murphy and Andrews and the County of Cherokee to combat disaster resulting from enemy or other hostility as defined herein.
   (B)   The Cherokee County Office of Civil Preparedness will be the coordinating agency for all activity in connection with civil preparedness. It will be the instrument through which the respective town councils and the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners may exercise the authority and discharge the responsibilities vested in them during an emergency.
   (C)   This subchapter will not relieve any town or county department from the moral authority or responsibilities given to it in the local charters or by local ordinances, nor will it adversely affect the work of any volunteer agency organized for disaster relief.
