§ 55.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   ASHES. The refuse from fires in houses, schools, stores, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, business buildings, manufacturing plants and other buildings of every type and kind, including small quantities of glass, crockery, sweepings, dust, brick, metal, and other inorganic materials.
   GARBAGE. Organic waste matter, both animal and vegetable, from houses, kitchens, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, business buildings, manufacturing plants, and other structures and buildings of every type and kind. GARBAGE is comprised chiefly of waste food, and does not include liquid that may be drained into the sewer.
   LITTER. Garbage, refuse, ashes as above described, and rubbish, trash, debris, paper, and all other materials.
   REFUSE. Tin cans, dirty rags, old clothes, waste, and other discarded material not otherwise designated or covered herein.
