Whenever any ordinance prohibits the operation of a truck having a trailer which trailer is in excess of 35 feet in length or a truck pulling a trailer which trailer is in excess of 35 feet in length on any street or alley, there shall be signs giving notice thereof and no regulation shall be effective unless the signs are in place. Signs indicating the operation of trucks having a trailer which trailer is in excess of 35 feet in length and trucks pulling a trailer which trailer is in excess of 35 feet in length shall be placed on said street or alley at every intersection.
