The following words, when used in this chapter, shall have the following meanings, except in those instances where the context clearly indicates otherwise:
(a) “Applicant” means any person who makes application for a permit.
(b) “Municipality” means the Municipality of Munroe Falls, County of Summit, State of Ohio.
(c) “Engineer” means a duly appointed Municipal Engineer who shall be in charge of all new utility and street construction and utility extensions except for utility service lines from the property line to the building. He shall be responsible for the construction and inspection on construction of all new roads, streets and utility installation and shall be responsible for the technical operation of the Municipality.
(d) “Road Supervisor” means a duly appointed person who shall be responsible for the proper maintenance of all streets, storm sewers, drainage structures and for the maintenance and repair of road maintenance equipment.
(e) “Water Inspector” means the person who will be responsible for the proper maintenance of the existing system and the proper installation of all taps and connections to the existing system for services from the water lines to the point of delivery to the customer and for any other duties assigned by Council.
(f) “Emergency” means any unforeseen circumstance or occurrence, the existence of which constitutes a clear and immediate danger to persons or properties.
(g) “Permittee” means any person who has been issued a permit and has agreed to fulfill all the terms of this chapter.
(h) “Person” means and includes any natural person, partnership, firm, association, utility, corporation, or authority created pursuant to an act of the General Assembly. Whenever used in any section prescribing and imposing a penalty, the term “person” as applied to associations, means the partners or members thereof, and as applied to corporations, the officers thereof.
(i) “Street” means and includes a public street, public easement, public right-of-way, public highway, public alley, public way, or public road accepted or maintained by the Municipality.
(j) The singular includes the plural and the masculine includes the feminine and the neuter.
