(a) “Curbside” means close to the traveled portion of the street or roadway, but in such a manner as to avoid interference with the safe and free flow of pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
(b) “Curbside recycling container” means a storage unit in which recyclable materials are placed.
(c) “Glass food and beverage container” means any glass bottle or jar used to package food or beverage products.
(d) “Materials recovery facility” means a facility for the collection, sorting, processing, transfer or sale of recyclable materials for the purpose of reclaiming material.
(e) “Metal food and beverage can” means any aluminum, bi-metal, or steel can used to package food or beverage products.
(f) “Newspaper” means used or discarded newsprint, including inserts.
(g) “Plastic bottles or jugs” means plastic bottles or jugs such as soft drink, milk, juice, distilled water, laundry detergent, fabric softener, etc., displaying a recycling symbol.
(h) “Private hauler” means a company that collects, transports and properly handles municipal solid wastes and/or recyclables.
(i) “Recyclable material” includes newspaper, metal food and beverage cans, glass food and beverage containers and designated plastic bottles and jugs.
(j) “Recyclable vehicle” means a vehicle used solely for the purpose of collecting and transporting recyclables. Vehicle shall be clearly marked with the word “Recycling” and/or display the recycling three arrow symbol.
