In addition to ad valorem taxes, there shall be imposed upon each person, business, partnership, corporation, profession, trade or otherwise, before they may engage in, solicit, or in any way enter into a business, trade or profession within the city limits for commercial purposes, a business license tax, in an amount set out hereinafter, for separate businesses as listed and for the purpose of operating such business, trade or profession. An application must be submitted to the City Clerk for a permit therefor, accompanied by the amount of money listed in § 110.12 as applicable.
