§ 52.098 WELLHEAD PROTECTION AREA.
   (A)   Definition. For the purpose of this section, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
      WELLHEAD PROTECTION AREA. The surface and subsurface area surrounding a public water supply well or well field supplying a public water supply system through which contaminants are reasonably likely to move toward and reach such water well or well field.
   (B)   Wellhead protection area. The Village Board designates a wellhead protection area for the purpose of protecting a public water supply system. Such areas are based upon the wellhead protection area map presented to the village by the State Department of Environmental Quality in July 2011. This map, a copy of which is attached to the ordinance codified in this section and available in the office of the Village Clerk-Treasurer, is incorporated by reference herein.
