(A) The operator of any vehicle proceeding on the streets and in the directions hereinafter designated, these streets being within the city, shall stop his vehicle at the stop signs hereinafter provided for before entering the intersection, except when directed to proceed by a police officer or as otherwise provided by law:

(B) Any person violating this schedule shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not less than $10 nor more than $100 for each offense, or imprisoned for a period not to exceed 30 days, or both.
