(A) The name of the planning commission shall be the "Bullitt County Planning Commission.
(B) The County Planning Commission shall be composed of 12 members which shall include:
(1) Five members who are residents of the county, living outside the city limits of Lebanon Junction, Shepherdsville, or Mt. Washington. These five members shall be appointed by the County Judge subject to the approval of the County Fiscal Court.
(2) One member who is a resident of the city of Lebanon Junction, appointed by the Mayor of Lebanon Junction subject to the approval of the City Council of Lebanon Junction.
(3) One member who is a resident of the city of Shepherdsville, appointed by the Mayor of Shepherdsville, subject to the approval of the City Council of Shepherdsville.
(4) One member of the city of Mt. Washington, appointed by the Mayor of Mt. Washington, subject to the approval of the City Council of Mt. Washington.
(5) The Mayor of Lebanon Junction.
(6) The Mayor of Shepherdsville.
(7) The Mayor of Mt. Washington.
(8) The County Judge.
(C) The term of office of all elected public officials shall be the same as their official tenure in office. They shall serve until their successors are qualified and take office. The term of office of all citizen members shall be four years and shall expire on December 31 of the last year of the term. Citizen members shall serve until their successors are appointed and qualified. The term of office of citizen members first appointed shall be staggered as follows:
(1) One citizen member of the county and one citizen member of the city of Shepherdsville shall serve one-year terms.
(2) One citizen member of the county and one citizen member of the city of Lebanon Junction shall serve two-year terms.
(3) One citizen member of the county and one citizen member of the city of Mt. Washington shall serve three-year terms.
(4) Two citizen members of the county shall serve four-year terms.
(D) All Commission members shall be reimbursed for any necessary expenses. Expenses shall be approved and paid by the County Fiscal Court. Citizen members shall receive compensation for each Commission or public meeting attended of not less than $25 with such compensation to be fixed and paid by the County Fiscal Court. No Commission member shall be paid for attending more than 40 meetings during any fiscal year of the Commission without prior approval of the Fiscal Court.
(E) All other details which are necessary for the establishment, operation, and administration of the Commission, for the preparation of plans, and for the aids to help implement the plans shall be as provided by law.
(F) The Planning Commission may employ such administrative officials and staff as it may deem necessary for its work and may contract with professional planners and for personal services as it may require with each to be approved by and paid for by the Fiscal Court.
