§ 31.21A  VICE-MAYOR.
   (A)   Appointment, term of office.  The Vice-Mayor of this city shall be appointed by the Mayor at his discretion.  The Vice-Mayor shall serve at the discretion and pleasure of the Mayor.
   (B)   Qualifications.  The Vice-Mayor shall be at least 25 years of age, shall be a qualified voter in the city, and shall reside in the city throughout his term of office and be a member of the City Council.
   (C)   Vacancy.  If a vacancy occurs in the office of the Vice-Mayor, the Mayor may fill the vacancy within thirty (30) days.
   (D)   Power and duties.
      (1)   The Vice-Mayor shall assist the Mayor in enforcing the Mayor-Council Plan, city ordinances and orders, and all applicable statute(s).  He shall assist the Mayor in supervision of all departments of city government and city employees under his jurisdiction.
      (2)   The Vice-Mayor shall have the authority to sign any checks in the absence of the Mayor.
   (E)   Compensation.  The Vice-Mayor shall receive no compensation for any work he performs during his appointment as Vice-Mayor.
   (F)   Oath; Bond.
      (1)   The Vice-Mayor shall take the oath of office pursuant to § 31.01.
      (2)   The Vice-Mayor shall, if required, execute bond which meets the requirements of KRS 62.060.  (Ord. 9-99, passed 9-17-99)
      (3)   Bond.  Official bonds shall, if required, meet the standards of KRS 62.060.
