§ 34.32 PERSONAL LEAVE.
   Every salaried or full-time employee of the city, after serving one full year may be paid for personal business absences of up to four days per year, providing prior approval is obtained from the department head.
   (A)   Absences for personal business are to cover those affairs which cannot be taken care of outside of regular working hours (such as dental or doctor appointments, traffic court appearances, and unexpected illness at home). Employees are not automatically entitled to the four days, nor can they be used to extend a vacation or holiday.
   (B)   Personal days may be used when all sick days are exhausted. Personal days also may be used for additional bereavement leave.
