This section applies to janitors, meter maids, patrol moms, or any employee working less than 32 hours per week. Persons working more than 32 hours per week, but on a temporary basis or for less than 26 consecutive weeks are classified as part-time employees. All references to part-time employees in this section shall include employees described in this section.
(A) No part-time employee, as defined above, shall receive any vacation or personal leave days.
(B) The Board of Public Works and Safety may approve four paid sick leave days for part-time employees with no more than one sick day allowed per quarter. No paid sick leave days will be granted during the first calendar year of employment.
(C) No part-time employee shall receive the city’s share of hospital insurance payments. Such employee may obtain coverage under the city’s policies if approved by the insurance carrier, by paying the full amount of each monthly premium.
