Each person, firm, or corporation in making any cut or excavation in any public street, alley, parking lot, or right-of-way shall indemnify, defend, and hold the city harmless against any and all costs, including expenses, claims, damages, demands, liabilities, and reasonable attorney fees for injuries to or death of any persons or damage to property arising out of the cut or excavation.
