The city shall place and maintain official traffic-control devices when and as required under this traffic code to make effective the provisions of this traffic code, and may place and maintain any additional official traffic-control devices as it may deem necessary to regulate, warn, or guide traffic under the traffic ordinances of this city or under state law.
