(A) All excavations required for the installation of the sewer shall be open trench unless otherwise approved by an employee of the City Sewer Department. Pipe laying and backfill shall be performed in accordance with standard practices; however, no backfill shall be placed until the work has been inspected by an employee of the City Sewer Department.
(B) All excavations for building sewer installations shall be adequately guarded with barricades and lights to be installed by the property owner. Streets, sidewalks, parkways, and other public property disturbed in the course of work shall be restored in a manner satisfactory to the city.
