§ 112.22 EVENTS EXEMPT FROM PERMIT.
   (A)   A special events permit will not be required for the following:
      (1)   City-sponsored events;
      (2)   Private party when private property is used and the event does not infringe on the rights of others;
      (3)   Church-sponsored and supervised events when church property is used;
      (4)   Mount Pleasant Independent School District-sponsored and supervised events when school property is used;
      (5)   Tent sales, truck load sales and promotions when private property is used and the activity/event is not otherwise prohibited by ordinance;
      (6)   Funeral procession;
      (7)   Weddings and wedding receptions when private or church property is used; and
      (8)   Construction projects.
   (B)   Exemption from permit shall not be deemed to grant authorization for any special event to be held in violation of the provisions of this subchapter or any other laws, ordinances or codes of the city.
   (C)   Nothing in this subchapter shall be construed to waive any other requirement for separate plumbing, electrical, mechanical, health and fire prevention related permits when these trades are applied.
