§ 71.070 AMBULANCES.
   (A)   The driver or operator of all ambulances being driven on and over the public streets and highways in the city shall operate the same at the rate of speed required for the operation of a passenger motor vehicle, and the driver or operator of such ambulances shall obey all traffic signs or traffic lights.
   (B)   The provisions of this section shall not be applicable in the following cases:
      (1)   Where the ambulance is following a police vehicle;
      (2)   Where, prior to the commencement of the trip, the driver shall call the police office of the city and inform the dispatcher that such ambulance has an emergency call, stating where the trip will commence and end. The term EMERGENCY CALL shall be held to mean any and all calls and requests for ambulance service on account of the circumstances which are such as come within the general definition of the term of “emergency.”
