§ 131.01 GRASS AND TREES IN PUBLIC PLACES.
   It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully break down, destroy, injure, mutilate, or remove any tree, or any of the boxes or other structures which enclose a tree, or to walk on or injure any grass plot, in any park, street, lane, alley, or open court within the municipality. It shall be lawful to cut away the limbs or branches of any tree for the purpose of erecting posts or suspending wires for electric lights, telegraph or telephone, or fire alarm service when a permit in writing to do so has been procured from the Department of Streets and Sanitation.
