(A) The Police Chief will be appointed by the Council and will serve at the pleasure of Council.
(B) Before entering on the discharge of the duties of office, the Chief of Police shall enter into Bond for the municipality in the amount of $5,000, conditioned on the faithful performance of all duties and a true accounting for all funds of the municipality which may come into his or her hands, custody, or control, and such bond shall be provided by a bonding or casualty company licensed to do business in this state, and shall be approved by the Mayor and Council or its appropriate committee.
