The personnel of the Fire Department shall consist of both full-time paid and volunteer members, the number in each category to be determined by Council, and shall include a Chief, Assistant Chief, Fire Marshals and Battalion Chiefs, as approved by Council, provided the Chief Assistant Chief and Battalion Chiefs are full-time paid officers. The names of such persons who desire to become members of the Fire Department, other than the Chief, shall be submitted by the Chief, with his or her recommendations to the Town Administrator, who shall approve all, or as many of those persons suggested, as he or she may deem advisable. Only those persons so approved shall become members of the Fire Department.
