Before entering upon the duties of his office, the President shall give bond with sureties to be approved by the Board of Trustees, conditioned upon the faithful performance of his duties, in the sum of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00). He shall take the oath of office prescribed by statute and shall receive four hundred dollars ($400.00) per regular or special meeting of the Village Board attended or for which his absence is excused.
