6-1-6: POSTING OF TRAFFIC SIGNS:
The Committee of Streets and Alleys, with the advice of the Chief of Police, shall cause to be installed or posted suitable signs for all one-way or through streets, alleys and stop intersections. The driver of a vehicle shall stop at the entrance to a through street or in obedience to a stop sign at an intersection where a stop sign is erected, and shall then proceed cautiously yielding to the vehicles on the through street or vehicles not so obligated to stop which are within the intersection or approaching so close as to constitute an immediate hazard, unless traffic at such intersection is controlled by a Police Officer on duty, in which event the directions of the Police Officer shall be complied with.
