§ 2-2-2 POWERS AND DUTIES.
   (A)   It shall be the duty of the Park Commissioners to have the charge, supervision, management and control of the public parks of the city, subject to the authority of the City Council; and said Board of Park Commissioners shall superintend the making of all repairs, alterations, improvements and embellishments of the public parks of the city, when so instructed by the City Council and shall carry into effect all orders of the City Council in relation to the public parks of the city. They shall make plans and estimates of any work ordered in relation to the public parks of the city and shall keep full and accurate accounts in appropriate books of all appropriations made for work pertaining to their office and all disbursements thereof, specifying to whom made and/or what account and they shall render accounts thereof and of all their proceedings to the City Council as often as the same shall be required of them by the Council of the city.
   (B)   Said Park Commissioners and each of them shall be and are hereby declared conservators of the peace, with full power to arrest or cause to be arrested with or without process of all persons who shall break the peace or thereafter attempt to break the peace or be found violating any ordinance of the city, commit for examination or trial and if necessary, detain such person in custody overnight or on Sunday, in the city prison or county jail or other safe place, or until he or she can be brought before a proper court for hearing or trial and shall have and exercise such other powers as conservators of the peace as are or may be authorized by law or prescribed by the ordinances of the city.
