§ 8-9-1 SNOWMOBILES.
   (A)   Definitions. The definitions set forth in 625 ILCS 40/1-2.05, included in the Snowmobile Registration and Safety Act, 625 ILCS 40/1-1 et seq., are hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this section.
   (B)   Operation on highway. It is unlawful for any person to drive or operate a snowmobile on a highway within the corporate limits of the city as authorized by this section.
   (C)   Designated routes. Snowmobiles may be operated over the following described routes for purposes of ingress and egress from the corporate limits: beginning at the parking and loading area on city property commonly referred to as the “burning grounds” and located in the 400 block of North Galena Street; thence, northerly along the easterly side of North Galena Street crossing the Galena Street bridge and continuing northerly to the common street address of 806 North Galena Street; thence, continuing northerly along the westerly side of Illinois State Route 78 to the common street address of 901 North Galena Street; thence, easterly across Illinois State Route 78 and continuing north-northeasterly on the property presently owned by Ralph Guentner located in the North Half of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 6, Township 24 North, Range 5 East of the 4th P.M., Carroll County, Illinois, to the corporate limits of the city, said route to be more particularly marked by signs approved by the city.
   (D)   Speed limits. It is unlawful to operate a snowmobile within the corporate limits at a speed in excess of 15 mph.
   (E)   Hours. Snowmobiles may be operated within the corporate limits between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
   (F)   Penalty. Any person convicted of a violation of any division of this section shall be fined a sum of not more than $500.
