§ 8-4-11 TRUCK TRAFFIC.
   (A)   Generally. Whenever the weight of vehicles permitted on a street is limited by ordinance and signs indicating such limitations are posted, it shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle in excess of such weight on such street, except for the purpose of making delivery or picking up a load, in which case such vehicle may be driven on such street for not more than the minimum distance necessary for the purpose.
   (B)   Weight restrictions, penalties.
      (1)   No person shall operate any vehicle in excess of weights as follows:
         (a)   Two axle four wheel vehicles having gross weight of 7,000 pounds;
         (b)   Two axle dual wheel vehicles having gross weight of 18,000 pounds; and
         (c)   Three axle or more dual wheel vehicles having gross weight of 33,000 pounds, and shall not exceed 11,000 pounds per axle.
      (2)   (a)   Any person who operates a vehicle in violation of this chapter shall pay the penalty for any vehicle overweight and will be prosecuted at the following scale of the posted load limits:

         (b)   Persons charged with a violation of this section shall post cash bail in an amount of the fine fixed by statute plus costs. The County Circuit Clerk costs are $10. See above for amount of bond.
