(A) Containers required. Every owner, tenant, lessee or occupant of every residential dwelling unit or place of business shall provide or cause to be provided at all times an approved trash container of sufficient number and capacity to accommodate and contain all trash generated and accumulated by occupants of the structure.
(B) Type of approved containers.
(1) Containers to be used for the pickup of garbage and rubbish shall be:
(a) Tightly covered plastic or metal containers which are water-tight and lined with a plastic garbage bag that does not exceed 33 gallons in capacity and does not exceed a total weight when filled of 50 pounds. Said containers shall have secure handles for convenient lifting and carrying.
(b) One and one-half cubic yard dumpsters approved by the city, for multi-family residential dwelling units.
(2) Containers to be used for the pickup of yard waste materials shall be special prepaid disposable 30-gallon paper bags constructed of 50% kraft, 50% wet strength. Said bags shall be exclusively supplied by the city or its authorized agency.
(3) RECYCLING BIN is a 15-gallon container to be used for the pickup of recyclable materials made available through the city exclusively.
(C) Disposal in containers required. For single-family dwellings and multi-family dwelling units, it is unlawful to dispose of any garbage and rubbish or yard waste material anywhere except through placement of such material in the types of approved containers herein described, and placed for collection as herein prescribed.
