In the event of the death, absence from the municipality or other disability of the Mayor preventing him or her from acting under this code or for any other municipal purpose, and until the office is filled in the manner prescribed by law, the coordinator of the emergency services and disaster agency shall succeed to the duties and responsibilities of the Mayor.
