§ 34.013 DUTIES OF CHIEF.
   (A)   The Chief of Police shall, in subordination to the Mayor, have the full management and control of the Police Department, and all regulations and orders of said Department shall be promulgated through him or her. All subordinate officers of said Department shall be subject to such rules and regulations as from time to time shall be prescribed by said Chief of Police with the approval of the Mayor. Primary disciplinary authority and responsibility within the Department shall rest with the Chief of Police, who is authorized to issue oral reprimands, written reprimands and suspension up to 30 days without pay.
   (B)   The Chief of Police shall devote his or her entire time to the discharge of the duties of his or her office, and shall be charged with the preservation of the peace, order, safety and cleanliness of the village, and to this end shall execute and enforce all ordinances and Police Department rules and regulations of said village, and orders of the Village Board and Mayor.
