In addition to a permit fee of fifty cents (50¢) as heretofore provided herein, the following inspection fees shall be paid to and collected by the City Clerk for various classes of work, as follows:
(A) Minimum charge, $3.00.
(B) Reinspection Charge, $6.00 per hour.
(C) All residential buildings remaining unoccupied for a period of six months, or residential buildings in which meters have been removed, shall be reinspected before the electrical use is permitted.
(D) All other buildings shall be reinspected upon change of occupancy. Hourly rates for unclassified work, $5.00.
(E) Inspection for permission to cover electric work, $2.00 each.
(F) Service entrance charges:
(1) 100 ampere or less $3.00; $2.00 per each additional.
(2) 100 ampere capacity beyond 100 ampere capacity. (This charge applies to each individual feeder).
(G) Branch circuit charges, fifty cents (50¢) per each installed branch circuit.
(H) Motor and/or generator: $2.00 up to and including 5 h.p. 104,less than 5 h.p. for the purpose of arriving at charges. Entire motor load may be totalized in arriving at charges.
(I) Transformers
(1) No charge up to and including 3 KVA or KW.
(2) $1.00 each transformer over 3 KVA up to and including 10 KVA.
(3) $2.00 for each transformer over 10 KVA up to and including 25 KVA.
(4) Transformers over 25 KVA shall be charged at a rate of 10c per KVA or MN.
(J) Fixture schedule $2.00 for first ten lamps. Ten cents (10¢) for each lamp over ten.
(K) Convenience outlets. Two dollars ($2.00) for first ten and ten cents (10¢) for each convenience outlet over ten.
(L) Welders:
(1) $2.00 for each welder up to and including 15 KVA or KW.
(2) 10¢ for each KVA or KW over 15 KVA or KW.
(3) Appliances rated in KW or KVA will be the same as welders.
(M) Appliances by h.p. - 1/3 h.p. or less will be figured as convenience outlets. See motor charge for appliance in excess of 1/3 h.p.
(N) Switchgear:
(1) $3.00 for the first operating unit.
(2) $1.00 for each additional operating unit.
(O) Motor Control Center: $2.00 per section.
(1) Illuminated Signs:
(a) Signs mounted inside buildings and in windows. $3.00
(b) Signs mounted outside -
1. First fifty (50) sq. ft. of area or less, 5.00.
2. Each sq. ft. of area over fifty (50) sq. ft., .10.
(c) Maximum for any one sign, 30.00.
(2) Outline Lighting:
(a) First fifty (50) linear feet or less of tubing, 5.00.
(b) Each 1 foot over 50 feet, .05.
(c) First 50 sockets or less, 5.00.
(d) Each socket over 50, .02.
(e) Maximum for any one installation, 30.00.
(P) (1) Isolated control system for furnaces, 150 watt or less, $2.00.
(2) (In excess of 150 watt, see Motors.)
(Q) Called Inspections:
(1) Called inspections shall be those field trips required by the licensed holder for the convenience and information of the license holder per hour, $5.00.
(2) X-Ray Equipment. (Transformers) 504 per KVA or KW capacity.
(3) Motion Picture Projector (professional) 504 per KVA or KW capacity.
(R) Panelboard (each panelboard):
(1) 100 ampere main and less $2.00 - $1.00 each additional 100 ampere capacity.
(2) Charges made for the inspection of items which are charged by watts or horsepower shall not receive additional charges for the branch circuit in connection with the same item.
(3) Flat fee (total charge for one family new residence provided with):
(a) Total amperage of less than 100 amps and not less than 200 amps, $18.50.
(b) A service of 200 amps, 24.50.
(c) Excess of 200 amps or parts thereof, 10.00 per 100 amps.
(d) For all other electrical permits, services, updating and other electrical work, a minimum fee of $7.50 for all services up to 200 amps and $10.00 for 200 amps and above.
(4) Flat Fee (total charge, except for illuminated signs and outline lighting), for new structure provided with 400 ampere service or greater, .08 times total service of 400 ampere or above.
(5) The fees for the permit above described shall not be charged to or collected from an applicant under the following circumstances:
(a) The work is being done for the use of a governmental entity or for a not-for-profit organization whose purposes are religious, educational, or charitable.
(b) The applicant shall file a written declaration with the City that said fees have not been and will not be included in any payment to any contractor or other person.
(c) Such organization shall apply for and obtain all necessary permits and otherwise fully comply with the ordinances of the City, unless exempted therefrom by any law of the State of Illinois or of the United States.
