§ 153.08 REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT.
   (A)   Any person, firm or corporation desiring to engage in the business of installing or altering electrical equipment in the City shall apply for registration to the City Clerk. Upon the filing of an application in the form prescribed by the Electrical Commission and payment of the registration fee and inspection deposit fixed herein, and upon approval by the Electrical Commission, the Electrical Inspector shall register the applicant as an Electrical Contractor, and shall cause to be issued to the applicant a certificate of registration which will authorize the applicant to engage in such business for the fiscal year in which it is issued.
   (B)   If, in the opinion of the Electrical Inspector, any registered Electrical Contractor shall have willfully or repeatedly violated any of the provisions of this ordinance, the Electrical Inspector shall prefer charges against such offending registered Electrical Contractor to the Electrical Commission. The Electrical Commission shall immediately conduct a hearing, after which, by a majority vote, if found guilty, such registration of said Electrical Contractor shall be revoked, and any unexpired registration fee shall be returned by the City as liquidated damages. The City Clerk shall keep a suitable record of all registrations.
   (C)   The fee for registration as an Electrical Contractor shall be Forty dollars ($40.00) payable on or before April 30 of each year hereafter, which sum shall be paid by the applicant to the City Clerk. The certificate of registration issued by the City Clerk shall expire on the first day of May following its issuance. Neither the City Electrical Inspector nor the Electrical Commission shall cause to be issued any such certificate of registration until the payment of such fee shall be made.
   (D)   The license holder shall maintain on deposit with the City Clerk, the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) to cover the cost of inspection fees. This deposit will be drawn upon monthly to cover the fees charged for the previous month. Failure to maintain this deposit in its full amount for a period of more than thirty (30) days will be reason for revocations of license by the Electrical Commission.
   (E)   Before any permit to install or alter electrical work shall be issued to any person, firm or corporation entitled to secure permits under this ordinance, he shall designate himself or some other person who shall be known as “Supervising Electrician”, who shall be responsible for electrical work.
   (F)   (2)   The Supervising Electrician shall be not less than twenty-one (21) years of age, and shall have had at least four (4) years experience in the installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of electrical wires, equipment, and apparatus, or an experienced equivalent thereto.
      (2)   Applicant shall furnish the names and addresses of former employers, the period of time employed, and in what capacity, proof of which service shall be furnished in a manner satisfactory to the Electrical Inspector; or, every applicant provided for in the preceding article shall be required to answer a reasonable number of questions in writing, to show that he has sufficient Electrical Code knowledge and technical training to supervise the installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of electrical wires and apparatus authorized by permits issued by the Electrical Inspector.
      (3)   Applicants shall be required to answer to the satisfaction of the Electrical Inspector at least seventy percent (70%) of the questions prepared by him.
