§ 153.06 PERMIT REQUIREMENT.
   (A)   No electrical equipment shall be installed or altered in the City of Mt. Vernon except upon a permit first issued by the Electrical Inspector. However, the provisions of this section shall not apply to repairs and maintenance, public service agencies, power companies, temporary testing systems, railway utilities and transmitting equipment. That each permit fee provided for in this Ordinance will include an inspection fee as hereinafter set forth and a registration fee of fifty cents (50¢).
   (B)   No real estate shall be annexed to the City of Mt. Vernon upon which there has been constructed or erected any building or improvement within 12 months prior to the date of annexation, where the construction or erection thereof would have required an electrical permit if same had been located within the City of Mt. Vernon on the date of such construction or erection, unless and until the owner thereof shall have obtained an inspection of such electrical installation in the manner provided by the within Electrical Code and shall have paid the inspection fee provided herein for such inspection; and shall have obtained a certificate that such electrical work complies with the provisions of the within Electrical Code.
