139.09 DUAL OFFICE HOLDING.

If the Chief or any other member of the Police Department shall become a member of Council, his office of Chief or member of the Department shall thereby become vacant; and in case a member of Council shall be appointed to the office of Chief of Police or become a member of the Police Department, his office as a member of Council shall become vacant.
