1735.03 OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS.
   (a)   Approved rigid metal conduit or surface metal raceways, or electrical metallic tubing, or (MC) Metal Clad Cable shall be required to conduct current for light, heat or power in wiring the following buildings:
      (1)   Apartment complexes for ten or more families;
      (2)   Churches;
      (3)   Manufacturing establishments;
      (4)   Commercial buildings;
      (5)   Apartment buildings three stories or over. (Ord. 4-16-94)
   (b)   New outlets for all electrical stoves shall be equipped with approved receptacles which must be located within three feet of the stove; receptacles must be sufficient in size. Units shall be connected to the receptacle provided by use of proper detachable plugs and cords.
   (c)   All wires used in underground conduits, or trapped conduits must be lead covered, or be of approved cable for installation in wet location. Conduits which are laid in or under concrete floors or poured or laid on ground surface shall be considered underground whether sheltered or not.
   (d)   Flexible metallic conduit may be used for flexible connections to equipment only; other usage shall be by special permission of the Electrical Inspector.
   (e)   Portable cords attached to music boxes, marble machines, floor lamps, and other similar equipment shall not exceed eight feet in length from the equipment to the outlet supplying current, and the cord must not be nailed down, taped or held in place with strips, strings or other supports, but must be left free and clear in commercial buildings.
   (f)   Holes are to be drilled in rafters and joists for runs of nonmetallic or armored cable.
   (g)   All medicine cabinet lights, switches to garbage disposals, vent fans, if operated by pull chain, in kitchen or bath, switches controlling vent fans in kitchen or bath, switches controlling vent hoods over ranges, laundry outlets, water pump outlets and furnaces shall all be grounded.
