1515.07 LOCK BOXES FOR CERTAIN STRUCTURES.
   All commercial and public structures which are erected or undergo major renovations after the effective date of this section, in the City of Moundsville or within the jurisdiction and authority of the City of Moundsville Fire Department that do not have personnel on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week shall have a lock box approved by the City of Moundsville Fire Department, located at the main entrance to the establishment, at the owner’s expense, containing a key for the Fire Department to make entry into the establishment in the event of an alarm activation while unoccupied. This section shall not have retroactive application to existing structures unless major renovations are made to the structure. Major renovations for the purposes of this section shall be defined as improving the structure where the cost of said improvement (or the aggregate of all improvements in a one year period after commencement of improvement) is greater than 20% of its assessed value for real estate tax purposes in the year the improvement or improvements are commenced. This section shall apply to all commercial and public structures constructed after the effective date of this section. (Ord. 2-19-02.)
