901.05 OCCUPYING STREETS FOR BUILDING PURPOSES.
   (a)   No person building or repairing any building shall occupy more than one-third of any street or alley, clear of the sidewalks in front of any lot on which a building is being erected or repaired, with the materials necessarily used in erecting such building or repairing.
   (b)   After any such building is built up to the second story, if such building is to be more than one story in height, a strong, compact and substantial bridge shall be built over the sidewalk, at least ten feet in height and of equal length with such building, and at each end of such bridge shall be posted a notice warning persons of the danger in passing such building; provided, that this shall not apply to buildings more than ten feet from the line of the sidewalk.
