§ 33.003 REMOVAL FROM OFFICE; VACANCIES.
   (A)   Removal from office.
      (1)   An appointed member of the Commission may be removed from office for just cause and on written charges by at least four-fifths vote of the entire City Council, but the member shall be entitled to a public hearing before the vote is taken. It shall be the duty of the chairperson of the Commission to notify the City Council promptly of any vacancies occurring in membership.
      (2)   In addition, an appointed member may be removed by the City Council for non-attendance at Planning and Zoning Commission meetings, as provided in the by laws adopted by the Planning and Zoning Commission, or if a Commission member does not attend 20 regularly scheduled meetings per year without the consent of the Commission.
      (3)   The Mayor, with approval of the City Council, shall fill the vacancies for the unexpired term of the original appointment.
   (B)   Termination of appointment. Any Commission member designing to terminate his or her appointment to the Commission before the expiration of the term shall give written notification to the Planning and Zoning Commission chairperson of that intention.
