10-1-8: DEMOLITION PERMITS:
   A.   No person shall demolish any building, structure, mobile or modular home, or other construction without first obtaining a separate demolition permit for each such building or structure from the City of Morris. Applications will be made available to the public by the City Clerk.
   B.   Applications for demolition permits shall contain all applicable information required on the demolition permit form and such additional information as may be required of the applicant by the City Clerk, the City Superintendent, or the Mayor. The Mayor shall decide whether to approve or reject an application.
   C.   Demolition permit fees shall be twenty five dollars ($25.00). This amount will be returned to the applicant if the permit application is rejected. If a permit application is rejected the applicant may appeal to the Morris City Council where it will be considered at the regular monthly meeting. The decision of the City Council is final.
   D.   If the work allowed under an issued demolition permit has not been initiated within one (1) month from the issuance day of said permit and completed within two (2) months, such permit shall become null and void unless a request for an extension is submitted to, and approved by, the Mayor. If said permit becomes null and void, a new permit must be obtained and the regular fee incident thereto collected, in order for the work to be initiated or resumed.
   E.   The Mayor may revoke a building permit in case there has been any false statement or misrepresentation as to a material fact in the application or attached materials on which the demolition permit approval was based.
   F.   Any entity that is contracted by the City of Morris for the purpose of the demolition of a building shall be exempt from this section.
