1-6-2: ELECTIONS:
   A.   Election Of Officers; Staggered Terms:
      1.   In a statutory aldermanic city. the terms of the elected officers shall be staggered so that at any one general Municipal election, the following officers shall be elected for four-year terms:
         a.   One Council member from each ward of the City;
         b.   The Mayor; and
         c.   The Clerk-Treasurer.
      2.   At the next general Municipal election, the following officers shall be elected for four-year terms:
One Council member from each ward.
   B.   General And Primary Elections: General Municipal elections are held on the first Tuesday in April of each odd-numbered year. A primary election shall be held the second Tuesday of February in each odd-numbered year, at which time the several political parties shall nominate candidates for offices which are to be elected at the upcoming general Municipal election.

   C.   Manner Of Conducting Municipal Elections:
      1.   The City shall not be governed by the provisions of the Oklahoma Town Meeting Act under 11 Oklahoma Statutes section 16-301 et seq., for the election of its officers and as a method of determining Municipal questions.
      2.   The City shall continue to elect its officers and determine its Municipal questions under the appropriate provisions of 11 Oklahoma Statutes section 16-101 et seq., as pertaining to the aldermanic form of government adopted and utilized by the City.
      3.   The City shall continue to utilize the Election Board of Okmulgee County to conduct all Municipal elections as may be required by law.
