1-4-1: GENERAL PENALTY:
   A.   Penalty Imposed; Limitation: Except where no specific penalty is provided therefor, whenever in this Code or in any ordinance of the City an act is prohibited or is declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, or whenever in this Code the doing of any act is required or the failure to do any act is declared to be unlawful, any person convicted for the violation of any provision of this Code or of any ordinance shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment for not more than thirty (30) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Provided, that the Municipal Court shall not impose a penalty, including fine and costs, that is greater than that established by Statute of the State of Oklahoma for the same offense. Each day or any portion of a day during which any violation of this Code or of any ordinance shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.
   B.   Failure To Pay Fine; Working On Streets Or Public Grounds: Any person fined for violation of a Municipal ordinance who is financially able but refuses or neglects to pay the fine or costs may be compelled to satisfy the amount owed by working on the streets, alleys, avenues, areas and public grounds of the City, subject to the direction of the Street Commissioner, Chief of Police, or the Chief of Police's designee at a rate per day of fifty dollars ($50.00) for useful labor, until the fine or costs are satisfied.
