Any person residing within the village limits who is eligible for rural free delivery of mail is authorized to place a mail box in the street immediately adjacent to the property on which he resides. Such box shall be placed at the edge of the traveled portion of the street, and mail boxes for all people residing in an apartment house or a multiple dwelling project shall be placed at one site.
