All sidewalks in front of or along any lot or parcel of land within the fire limits shall be constructed of such width as the Board of Trustees may from time to time by resolution determine. All other sidewalks in the village shall be not less than four feet in width. Sidewalks in the fire limits shall be built plumb with the lot line; sidewalks in the resident district shall be built six inches from the lot line, or if directed by such village employee as is designated by the Board of Trustees, along the curb of the paved street.
