The Occupational Health and Safety Act administered under 29 C.F.R. 653, 655, 657 has amended and expanded protection of employees potentially exposed to blood borne pathogens and 29 C.F.R. § 1910.1030 is being added under authority of 29 C.F.R. 653 which requires employers to protect potentially exposed employees from infection with pathogens that may be transmitted by contact with blood or other body secretions.
